If you’ve been following along you’d see that the @repfitnessequipment QuickDraw dumbbells have become a staple in my training. I’ve used these for just about all of my accessories that call for the use of dumbbells. Not necessarily something I’d say you could use for Metcons, but can work if you’re not switching hands with them.

At surface level, they work pretty similarly to other adjustables but the ease of swapping weights out is where these excel. Swapping weights is as easy as putting them back on their stands and flipping a switch. The weights and stand are grooved out so that you really can’t mess anything up. I have the KG set (not sure why) and the denominations are in 5kg increments – my set goes from as low as 2.5kg (handles) all the way to 30kg so there are plenty of adjustments to go between. You can technically swap the weight out without the stand, but it’s cumbersome.

The 32mm handle is nicely knurled out with a lighter depth volcano type knurling. I’ve never had a loss of grip nor has it ever been uncomfortable to hold. The handles have two support rods that aren’t knurled that you can also use to grip.
Maxed out the dumbbell is pretty massive which can make OH presses a little weird but I don’t think many people looking at these are going to run into that issue. Once again you can’t really switch hands on the fly because of the support rods, also not a big deal.

I’d say the biggest con, which is still small, is that you’ll need a dedicated space for these and the bases since you’ll need to return them to swap weights easily. Also the weights don’t feel totally locked in and have a slight wobble. I haven’t had an issue with them coming off but the thought is always in the back of my head when I’ve got these over my face.

At $580 for a 30kg pair – they’re not cheap, but they’re a practical and space saving solution for those not looking to do CrossFit. I’ll still keep some of my hex dumbbells around for Metcons but my lighter stuff, I’ll probably just sell off because I have these for anything I’d use those for.
I’m a fan and would recommend adding these to your shopping list for the upcoming Black Friday sale.
