It’s finally that day that the first Open workout gets released and I know everyone has their panties in a bunch. I got to thinking, there is one last tip that I’ve got for you before the Open begins.
As simple as that sounds, you’d be surprised how easy it is to overlook. I know everyone wants to do well on the workouts for the Open, but take it from me, it’s not worth that extra stress (unless of course, you’re a Games hopeful.); especially if it’s your first Open experience. I spent a lot of time last year stressing about what I was going to eat, wear, how I could strategize, and how I did after the workouts. By the end of the Open, I was just drained. Eat like you normally do, try to get some rest, watch other people, and most importantly…listen to your coaches! Remember, at the end of the day, it’s just another WOD.
Have fun with it, think of it as less a competition and more a celebration of Crossfit.
